What is Make Me?
Make Me is an iPhone app that turns "make me" into a contract you keep. You pick the exercise. You pick the apps. You pick the math. Each rep — or each block of steps — credits a minute. Open one of the chosen apps and the balance ticks down. When it hits zero, the apps close. The morning alarm doesn't quit until you've done the reps either. No willpower required, because the price is already paid in advance.
The two things that actually work
- The block. Make Me uses iOS Screen Time to shield the apps you've named. When your balance hits zero, they close. Not a nag screen — a real system-level door.
- The alarm. Set the morning alarm and it won't stop ringing until you've squatted, walked, or done whatever you committed to. Snooze isn't an option you have.
The mental model
One balance. All the chosen apps draw from it. There's no per-app accounting, no daily reset that wipes you back to the same starting line, no friction you can dismiss with a tap. Surplus carries day to day, so a hard workout on Tuesday is the reason you scroll easily on Friday.
Configurable everything
Make Me is built for tinkerers. Set the exchange rate yourself — 10 squats per minute, 25, whatever number you trust. Choose which exercise. Choose the apps. Pick the alarm's terms. Mid-month, raise the rate when it's gotten too easy, or shrink it when life gets in the way. The contract is yours to write, and rewrite.
Optional: with friends
You can invite friends to a shared goal and see a small leaderboard. It's there if you want it — a soft accountability layer — but it isn't the point. Solo works fine. There's no streak shaming, no notifications begging you back. The friends-mode is a bonus, not the engine.
What it isn't
- It isn't a fitness tracker. Reps are a pricing mechanism, not a training plan.
- It isn't a willpower app. It's a contract — the kind that holds up because you signed it on a quiet morning, not in the moment.
- It isn't a nagging coach. The vibe is "make me" — playful, defiant, a little funny — not guilt.
Who it's for
People who already know what they want their phone to be, and want a system that holds them to it. Make Me is the friction that lets you follow through without having to remember, every time, that you meant to.
